It´s kind of strange watching a back-slick finance guy getting all exited about algae and bacteria. Well, this guy Steve Jurvetson that apparently works for some quirky minded VC really paints the picture I left half done in my "green is the new black" blogpost where I discussed peak oil and pointed out that the green energybusiness really will be something to invest in.
He describes the process of engeneering organisms and basically using microbes as kind of a living software for processing of chemical reactions and the ultimate production of the end result: a molecule. Its a known concept, but I love his crossdisciplinary approach and how he manages to create a map to fit the biological engeneering in a totally new perspective. VC finance and algae meet in a perfect match.
Again another superinspiring talk on Stanford´s eCorner.
